I took this photo of a woman hiding her identity from me as she strolled next to the wheat fields in the district of Pashtunkot in Faryab Province. I have seen almost no female faces since I have been in Afghanistan. Most of the grown men love having their photo taken, the women hide behind the burqas, while the children mostly run away. This is a completely new experience for me from both photographing in Africa and in the Middle East where children love having their photos taken. Of course, as always, when I take a portrait of someone, I do so with their permission. When I take candid shots while passing, I will try and "steal" a moment in time such as this one.
